1. Alte Saline
The Old Salt Works in Bad Reichenhall is definitely worth a visit when you are in town. Built by King Ludwig I. of Bavaria in the 1830s, it used to produce salt from brine until the late 1920s. Today, the Old Salt Works is an industrial monument under preservation order. 2. St. Nikolaus Kirche
The parish church of St. Nicholas was originally built in the 12th century as a three-nave Romanesque basilica. Over the centuries, it has been destroyed and had been rebuilt many times. The impressive golden fresco in the chancel was only painted in the 19th century and although the church looks rather unimpressive from the outside, you will be impressed by the size and beauty of the interior of the church.
3. Ramsau
The small town of Ramsau in the Berchtesgadener Land region has an almost fairytale appearance. The main attraction is the parish church of St. Sebastian, which immediately catches the eye with the mighty rock massifs of the Mühlsturzhorn and the Reiteralp in the background. Already in the 19th century, artists felt magically attracted by the picturesque place and the equally picturesque Hintersee that is located further up. The parish church of St. Sebastian therefore served particularly frequently as a motif for drawings of the mountain world of the Alps. Ramsau lies directly at the Berchtesgaden National Park. An unbelievable number of charming excursion destinations lie in the immediate vicinity of the town, including the Wimbachklamm gorge, Hintersee with the Magic Forest, the Maria Kunterweg pilgrimage church and the chairlift to Hirscheck at Hochschwarzeck. The region is particularly popular with hiking enthusiasts.
4. Predigtstuhl
The Predigtstuhl is a 1613 m high mountain in the Berchtesgadener Alps and, along with Hochstaufen, Zwiesel and the Untersberg, is one of the local mountains of Bad Reichenhall. The Predigtstuhl can be climbed on hiking trails, or you can take the Predigtstuhlbahn, the oldest cable car in the world still in its original state. Once you have reached the summit, enjoy the fantastic view and fortify yourself in the Predigtstuhl mountain restaurant before setting off again on your way back.
5. Königliches Kurhaus
The neo-baroque Royal Kurhaus, built in the year 1900, is an esteemed location for congresses, conferences, concerts and celebrations. The building offers a very
special atmosphere, ideal for an inspiring exchange of ideas. Enjoy the wonderful view of this garden from the majestic terrace of the Royal Spa House.
6. Kloster Höglwörth
Visit the Höglwörth Monastery, situated just over 12 kilometres from Bad Reichenhall. The idyllic monastery offers a beautiful sight, located on a peninsula in a small lake. In the middle of the monastery is the monastery church, built in the rococo style. The complex represents one of the most beautiful architectural ensembles in eastern Upper Bavaria. The monastery church became after the secularisation a daughter church of the parish of Anger and can be visited during the day. A walk around the small lake is especially beautiful, which attracts bathers and sun worshippers with its clear water and two bathing spots. From the idyllic lakeside areas you can enjoy the various charming views of the monastery.

8. Old Town
Bad Reichenhall is a beautiful and at the same time rather small town. In any case, enjoy a walk through the beautiful old town of Bad Reichenhall to discover the history of this alpine town. Admire imposing villas, magnificent buildings and spa facilities, and a multitude of fountains. The pedestrian zone of Bad Reichenhall is also one of the oldest in Bavaria and invites you to shop and linger in one of the pretty cafés and restaurants.
9. Königlicher Kurgarten
Created in 1868 by the Royal Bavarian Court Gardener Carl von Effner, the spa garden is still considered one of the most beautiful of its kind in Central
Europe. It is harmoniously framed by perfectly executed buildings such as the Concert Rotunda, the Royal Spa House or the Wandelhalle. When you sit comfortably on a bench, you can see the magnificent mountain scenery that surrounds Bad Reichenhall almost lovingly from all sides.
10. Wimbachklamm
The Wimbachklamm is an ideal location for a day trip. Situated 24 Kilometers south of Bad Reichenhall , it is a short drive of half an hour by charter bus. Although the Wimbachklamm gorge is only 200 metres long, the gorge is one of the most impressive natural water features in the Bavarian Alps, with its thunderous masses of water tumbling into valleys over several cascades and the uncountable small waterfalls, some of which trickle down the rock face like a curtain. The foaming spray forms a standing wall of fog in the narrow gorge, where the sun hardly penetrates. This is why the temperature in the gorge is very fresh even in summer. For over 170 years, visitors have been able to admire this impressive natural spectacle on a footbridge attached to the rocks. From a signposted car park on the road between Ramsau and Berchtesgaden, the gorge can be reached after a 10 minute walk. Behind the Wimbachklamm is the romantic Wimbachtal. After visiting the gorge, those who wish can hike through the valley to the Wimbachschloss mountain restaurant three kilometres away.
