Visit the Top 10 places in Graz with Coach Charter Germany - your coach charter company
Graz Austria is the second largest city in Austria, and capital of the Styrian region. If you're planning travel to Graz, deciding where to live is an important part of your Austrian itinerary. Much of the beauty of Graz lies in the architecture found in the city. In fact, Graz was the European Capital of Culture in 2003, and was called a City of Architecture only a few years later.
Chartered bus by Coach charter Germany recommends overnight in historic city centre, or Old Town, which is the center of most tourist attractions and historic sites. Our bus service will help you choose where to overnight.

When you plan to visit Graz with a group Coach Charter Germany is your partner for the bus company. We are a family-owned bus company with over 40 years experience traveling by coach. Trust us, because we are the Group and Bus travel experts. Through our airport shuttle, we can provide transfers from airport to hotel and can provide daytrips through our tour bus.

Here you will find our bus company’s top 10 places visiting Graz

1. Schlossberg

The Schlossberg, one of Graz's most iconic features and proudly situated in the city centre, is a tree-covered hill that once acted as a castle, and has now become a public park. Our chartered bus has to say the Schlossberg has a stunning park and an ornate set of stairs that criss-cross the side of the hill and is the best place to see views of the area.

2. Eggenberg Palace

Eggenberg Palace stands in the town of Graz and Austria as a symbol of the once rich and prosperous region of Styria. Bus rental will say that Eggenberg Palace is a must to understand Styrian and Austrian history.

3. Kunsthaus Graz

Named 'the good alien' by the locals, the Kunsthaus Graz is an innovative masterpiece of architecture designed to mark the city's tenure as the European Capital of Culture. This unusual structure has 1,066 acrylic elements in its 'face,' designed by British architects Peter Cook and Colin Fournier, and is a distinctive part of the city.

4. The Styrian Armoury

If you're interested in historic firearms and war equipment at all, the Styrian Armor will be a joy – it includes the world's largest collection of more than 30,000 pieces of arms and armour. The surviving arms and armor are now on display in the original building.

5. Herz-Jesu-Kirche

This striking piece of Neogothic architecture (but in a good way!) sticks out like a sore thumb. This relatively new church is very accessible, situated a bit east of downtown Graz and should be high on your list of things to see. The bell tower is the third highest in Austria, and is topped by a pointed green roof.

6. Rathaus and square

Right in the middle of the old city of Graz, the town hall has served as the town hall for hundreds of years and has undergone a variety of architectural changes, from the Renaissance to the new neoclassical structure that stands today. Our bus company recommends visiting the impressive municipal hall with a stunning façade reminiscent of the Budapest Parliament building with identical white columns and crenulations and an ornate dome crowned with them.

7. Mariatrost Basilica

Located in Mariatrost, a district about 20 minutes from Graz city centre, the basilica is a powerful building renowned in the Styrian region as a holy place of pilgrimage. A tour bus suggests visiting some restaurants and the nearby tram museum, so the short walks are certainly worthwhile.

8. Mausoleum of Ferdinand II

Presumably one of Europe's most elegant mausoleums of its sort, there aren't many that can equal the size and scale of Ferdinand II's mausoleum. The mausoleum is an incredible structure for both religious and historical enthusiasts and a great place to visit.

9. Botanical Gardens

This greenery and natural wonder paradise demonstrates the traditional style and distinctive architecture of Graz, and has many "Armadillo "- shaped greenhouses that combine to produce this unique design. There are trees, tropical flora, cactus and other natural elements in these magical greenhouses, divided into four separate climatic zones.

10. The Murinsel

In 2003 Graz was proclaimed European Capital of Culture and as part of this honour, the Murinsel was designed and constructed. Inside there is a café and a dining area for river views, and there is also a children's play space.

Coach charter Germany recommends the realistic way to reach Graz is to do so by air.
